This Irish designer started out designing hats and handbags, but soon moved on to a range of work including cars (Yes, really!) and kitchenware. Soon, ‘The Guardian’ was calling her ‘The Queen of Prints’.
She’s worked for Citroen, Harrods and Habitat. She’s been Visiting Professor of Textiles at the Royal College of Art, she’s an Honorary Fellow of the British Institute of Design. Quite close to home she’s also an Honorary Doctor of Norwich University of the Arts.
It’s a stellar career and we’re thrilled to be stocking a fantastic selection of her designs.
Let’s start in the kitchen. The Orla Kiely Linear Stem Coasters and Place Mats say it all with their striking contemporary look. If the 70s vibe is your thing (and why wouldn’t it be? It’s seriously cool right now) then her ‘Flower’ design on teapots, milk jugs and butter dishes are going to make you very happy.
