Warehouse Assistant/Driver – Fakenham

W J Aldiss Limited is one of East Anglia's leading independent retailers and has been established for over 130 years. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and we are looking for a full-time Warehouse Assistant/Driver to be part of our successful business.

Based at the Distribution Centre in Fakenham, you will initially be working as part of the warehouse team gaining knowledge of products and processes. The main duties will include:

• Assisting with movement of large items of stock around the warehouse and other company premises which will involve lifting, using a forklift or other aids;
• Assisting with loading and unloading goods from vehicles/vans; 
• Assisting with stock administration paperwork including receipt of goods;

• General housekeeping duties in and around company premises.

Once you have gained the knowledge and skills that are essential to being able to deliver to our customers, you will be placed on a driver rota and will assist with deliveries.  As part of a two-person team, the main duties for customer deliveries will include:

• Delivering furniture to customers premises in a safe and timely manner and adhering to driving/tachograph rules;
• Unloading furniture from vans and taking into customers homes in a safe and efficient manner and removing furniture from customers homes as necessary;
• Providing exceptional customer service with politeness and professionalism;

This role will include lifting, heavy lifting and manual tasks on a daily basis.

What we are looking for:

• A positive and motivated team player;
• Ability to complete administration paperwork in a timely and accurate manner;
• A full car driving licence is essential;
• A Class 1 and forklift licence would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

This is a Monday to Friday position working 40 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 5pm. Only very occasional Saturday working will be required. Bank Holiday working is not required.

Full- time Sale Advisor – Furniture - Norwich

W J Aldiss Limited is one of East Anglia’s leading independent retailers and has been established for over 130 years. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and we are looking for a Full-time Furniture Sales Advisor to be part of our successful business within our Norwich Superstore.

You will be responsible for advising customers, processing sales orders and maintaining product displays to a high standard. You will also have a real passion for selling and be able to demonstrate first class customer service. Previous experience within furniture sales would be desirable. However, previous face to face retail experience is essential.

This position is based on 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 10.00am to 6.00pm, over 5 days. This includes working Bank Holidays and weekends.

Excellent remuneration package with OTE £32K+. We offer guaranteed commission for the first three months.

Part-time Catering Assistant – Fakenham

W J Aldiss Limited is one of East Anglia's leading independent retailers and has been established for over 130 years. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and we are looking for a part-time Catering Assistant to be part of our successful business.

Based within the restaurant at the superstore in Fakenham, the main duties will include assisting with the preparation and service of food, serving customers, washing up and clearing tables and maintaining high levels of cleanliness in our restaurant and kitchen areas.

Previous experience of working within a catering environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The hours of work will be 5 per week, Sunday to Saturday between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm and will include weekend and bank holiday working.

The basic rate of pay for this position is £12.21 per hour (subject to Government pay guidelines).
