It’s time! Time to get ready for the cooler nights.

It seems like only five minutes ago we were giving you some tips on how to cope with the lighter nights. Suddenly it’s time to think about the nights getting cooler already!

For some people that’s a welcome development. Did you notice that during our long hot summer even the weather forecasters regularly mentioned that the lovely weather could make the nights uncomfortable for some sleepers?

It is an issue, and having the right kind of bedding is important whatever the weather.

We’re not talking about preparing for an instant switch to Arctic conditions but as autumn beckons we’ve selected some super sleep time ideas that are ideal for the seasonal shift.

Nowadays there’s more choice than ever when it comes to bedding, but high on our list of favourites is the  Fogarty Supreme Comfort 10.5 tog duvet. Available in Single, Double, King Size and Superking sizes it’s non allergenic and machine washable. It features Hollowfibre filling and a soft microfibre cover and at 10.5 tog it’s just right. For us it ticks a lot of boxes.

Quilts of Denmark have always proudly proclaimed that they have developed the world’s most comprehensive programme of quality bedding to provide you with the ultimate and most exquisite night’s sleep. The Quilts of Denmark White Duck Feather and Down 10.5 tog duvet is very much part of that tradition. The 85% Feather, 15% Down mix and 233 thread count cambric cotton cover make this the perfect weight for cooler nights.

Deyongs Snuggletouch Throw is so soft and snugglyyou’ll love it. It’s a great way to add an extra layer of cosiness to your bed, at the same time as a dash of style to your bedroom. As an accessory it’s very versatile. It looks just as good draped over a sofa. Or draped over you, on a sofa, if you fancied cosying up in front of the tv on one of the cooler evenings.

Next up is something really new. The Fine Bedding Eco Duvet is a step change in bedding manufacturing. This is the first ever duvet to be made using 100% renewable energy. This company’s award winning eco factory transforms plastic waste, that would otherwise end up in landfill, into a fabulously fluffy and light - but very cosy - duvet filling.  The cover - which is wonderfully soft - is also made from 100% recycled materials. It’s home washable, quick drying and hypoallergenic so it’s pretty much perfect. Even the packaging it comes in is made from 100% recycled materials. How cool is that?  (If you see what we mean!).

We love Brushed Cotton SheetsThe Belledorm range for example are 100% brushed cotton and seriously luxurious and soft. They’re super cosy for the cooler nights. In colours including the much in demand grey they are really rather ‘cool’ to look at actually!  And, they’re extra deep, with a depth of 38cm. Which means they’re very practical.

Practical, stylish and ideal for the cooler nights - that pretty much sums up all of our autumnal bedding suggestions really. Check them out. Soon.
