Yes, every DuraOcean Chair means that 3kg of plastic nets have been taken from the sea and made into beautiful furniture.

At Aldiss we’re actively seeking out and working with manufacturers who are committed to sustainability and cleaning up our oceans. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that from February 2020 we’ll be bringing you the DuraOcean Chair.
The DuraOcean Chair is made from 100% recycled plastics. That’s plastic from fishing nets, sourced as part of an ocean recovery project, cleaned and then used to make the chairs.
This is furniture that is completely safe for the environment. It’s made to the most rigorous international standards and contains no harmful chemicals. Which means if you do ever want to part with it, it’s totally recyclable.
None of this means it’s not stylish or practical. It looks fabulous. The bucket styling of the seat, combined with the natural finished, slightly angled legs, makes for a very contemporary, with a dash of retro, look.
Team a pair of these chairs with a table made from sustainable FSC certified Eucalyptus and you’ve got a perfect, and perfectly planet friendly, ’tea for two’ set.
So there it is. Furniture made from materials which have been salvaged to help clean the oceans. The materials themselves have been cleaned to make the finished chair totally environmentally safe, and 100% recyclable. And, as furniture, it looks terrific too.
